A new life

Today is a special day. Our second niece (on my side) was born today and I was here for it. I got to witness the miracle of birth for both Brantlee and this new little love that we welcomed today. I got a call at 2:05am from my brother that Tonja was in labor and to meet them at the hospital. I got there around 2:30 after stopping for some caffeine and magazines that I thought I would need while Tonja labored. When I arrived, Jason and Tonja had been there about 15 minutes and Tonja was clearly in alot of pain. She was contracting every 2 minutes and was 7 cm when she got to the hospital! No time for epidural or anything and baby was delivered at 3:51 am. It was quite a different experience than her first labor with Brantlee. It was quick and I know incredibly painful. Tonja was a trooper and I am in awe of what she did this morning. I'm so blessed that they included me again in this special moment in their lives. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures yet. I will post some tomorrow. I took all the pictures today with Jason and Tonja's camera and none with mine. I'm going to the hospital in the morning to take some with my camera so they are coming. We welcome with love our new niece:
Bree Taylor Howard
6 pounds, 13 ounces

Congratulations Jason, Tonja and big sister Brantlee!

Congrats! What an amazing experience! Especially after going through my son's birth, I hope that someday I can witness the birth of a special little niece or nephew. What an amazing experience and privilege!
