My "5 questions" interview

The "5 question interview" is making its way around the blog-o-sphere. Here is how it works: when somebody else answers interview questions given to them, they then open up their services to interview other people. Colleen over at See Sherm blog was just interviewed and she in turn has interviewed 3 people, myself being one of them. By the way, if you're not reading Colleen's blog, you should. She is about to become a mommy, a very talented photographer and she is quite funny. I actually started reading her blog several months ago and it took me a while to figure out that we grew up going to the same church. Yes, I'm slow. So here are my interview questions from Colleen.

1. Over the last year, what has surprised you the most about Julianne and about being a mother?

This is a tough question. Motherhood comes with so many surprises. I think the thing that has surprised me the most is how easy it has been. Don't get me wrong, it's not always easy but it is way easier than I thought it would be. This is probably because I have a really good baby who is not very demanding and has slept through the night since she was 7 weeks old. I found it surprising how naturally the mommy role came to me and how you just know what to do for your baby. I didn't really think I was prepared or that I knew much about babies but everything just came to me. I also was surprised by how fun it is. My heart is just so full of joy because of her. I also found it way easier to leave my job than I thought I would. I don't miss it at all and feel so blessed to be a full-time mommy.

2. If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? (type meaning mexican, italian, chinese...)

Definitely Mexican food. Good Mexican food that is. I love Mexican food and I haven't been able to have good Mexican food since leaving California. The Midwest and east coast DO NOT have good Mexican food. I'm probably picking Mexican food because I miss it so much and only get to have it now when I go back to California for a visit. This is why I always eat too much when I go home for a visit! :)

3. What has blogging contributed to your life? And is your blog now what you thought it would be when you first started?

Blogging is a way for me to journal without actually having to sit down and write in a journal because I am horrible at that. It's a great way to document our lives and share with family and friends who are far away. My blog is in a way what I thought it would be but even better. I never expected to find so many "blog friends" and it brings me happiness to "meet" such interesting people. It seems weird to have "friends" that you have never met but I think it is so much fun. One main thing that I have got from blogging and from reading others blogs is to be thankful for what I have. I have read so many sad stories on blogs and also many inspirational ones. I feel like I have a better perspective on life and also remember to thank God every day for all of the blessings in my life. I never thought I would get so much out of it or how addicting it would be. I couldn't read blogs for 5 days with my technology problems last week and I missed it very much.

4. What is your most favorite blog post (on your blog) and why?

This was hard for me. I've loved many of my posts but this one really sums up what this blog is truly about. I want to remember these kinds of moments. When I have these a-ha moments so that I can go back and remember. I always want to be a mom who puts my kids at the top of my priority list and to never forget that every moment is precious.

5. Have your "mop slippers" lost their coolness factor.... or are you still using them all the time? Would you recommend them still?

Colleen is referring to this post where I introduced my new mop slippers. They have not lost their coolness factor, nor do I think they ever will. Shaun makes fun of them but I don't hear him complaining when we have super shiny floors. I highly recommend them and you can find them here. Saving your knees and back for $7.00....I think so!

Thanks Colleen, this was fun! If any of you want to be interviewed, leave a comment and I'll send you some questions or if you have already done it leave a link to your interview.

Yeeeeeah! Its so fun reading the answers of questions I asked. :-) And its decided... I must put the mop slippers on my birthday wish list. With my aching back, nothing sounds better than NOT bending over to clean the wood floors in our house!!
