Show us where you live Fridays - Guestroom

It's Friday and time for Show us where you live....hop on over to Kelly's Korner to see all the other guestrooms and join in the fun.
We have two guestrooms but I'm only going to share the presentable one with you. The one I am embarrassed to show is plain and more of a storage area right now for all of my scrap booking stuff, the cradle we used when Julianne was first born, and basically everything else I don't have a place for.
So, here it is, our guestroom. It's pretty minimal but I think it is cozy.

Shaun and I got new bedroom furniture last year so this is our old bed/headboard and our old bedding (which my mom made). I reused the curtains also (they were in our bedroom in our previous house). In fact, I don't think I bought one thing for this room. It all used to have a home someplace else. I do want something to hang above the bed but we are moving in a year and I just don't want to spend the money on anything that we will just have to move.

Here are some close-ups of the beautiful bedding my mom made. It is a goldish/brown silk with beading detail. I love it!

These photos used to hang in our living room in our previous house and in our master bedroom in the house before that. I love them. Shaun bought them for me for my birthday one year. The dress in the middle photo is purple which is my favorite color.

This dresser has been moved cross country 3 times. It used to be a natural finish and it was in my room at my parent's house in California. I painted it black when we moved into our current house and I think it works well in here. I love to paint and re-use furniture!

The bedside table that I also painted and re-used. Lamp is from Kirkland's (seriously love that store - I got two of these lamps for $19.99)

These candle holders are from Kirkland's as well. They were 2 for $14.99.

There you have it, our simple and cozy guestroom. We love it when we have guests to fill it!

It is very cozy and relaxing (of course I did not have kids with me when I visited, so anything would have been relaxing)! Can't wait to use it again soon!

I love this room. Your mom is so talented. My mom made us satin sheets for our wedding gift! I love them! It makes it so easy to slide out of bed.
