We have two guestrooms but I'm only going to share the presentable one with you. The one I am embarrassed to show is plain and more of a storage area right now for all of my scrap booking stuff, the cradle we used when Julianne was first born, and basically everything else I don't have a place for.
Shaun and I got new bedroom furniture last year so this is our old bed/headboard and our old bedding (which my mom made). I reused the curtains also (they were in our bedroom in our previous house). In fact, I don't think I bought one thing for this room. It all used to have a home someplace else. I do want something to hang above the bed but we are moving in a year and I just don't want to spend the money on anything that we will just have to move.
Here are some close-ups of the beautiful bedding my mom made. It is a goldish/brown silk with beading detail. I love it!
This dresser has been moved cross country 3 times. It used to be a natural finish and it was in my room at my parent's house in California. I painted it black when we moved into our current house and I think it works well in here. I love to paint and re-use furniture!
The bedside table that I also painted and re-used. Lamp is from Kirkland's (seriously love that store - I got two of these lamps for $19.99)
These candle holders are from Kirkland's as well. They were 2 for $14.99.
There you have it, our simple and cozy guestroom. We love it when we have guests to fill it!

It is very cozy and relaxing (of course I did not have kids with me when I visited, so anything would have been relaxing)! Can't wait to use it again soon!
So elegant!
So calm and pretty! I have that larger dress picture and you'll see it in future weeks. Love it!!
I love this room. Your mom is so talented. My mom made us satin sheets for our wedding gift! I love them! It makes it so easy to slide out of bed.
Very pretty!
Love the bedding and the ironwork. :)
Simply beautiful!
And, your mom rocks!
