Weekend visit!

We had a great weekend with my dear friend Lacey and her adorable daughter Reese. They came from Chicago to visit us. Lacey and I met 9 years ago when we worked together at Deloitte and Touche. She was my saving grace in a hectic and sometimes painful three years of working there. She still works there (God bless you Lacey)! We've stayed close ever since but certainly don't get to see each other as much as we would like. The last time I saw her was nearly two years ago at her wedding reception. I told her when I was there that weekend that "I may be pregnant" because I just had a feeling. Two weeks later, we received news that Julianne was on the way. She and her husband Tom followed quickly behind us as Reese made her appearance just 4 months (and one day) after Julianne did. We couldn't wait to introduce our girls to each other and we had a fun weekend of playing, shopping, eating, and just hanging out.

They arrived on Friday morning and it was a beautiful day. That afternoon, we were able to enjoy the weather and take the girls outside for a bit. We sat them down with snacks and these are the photos that followed (adorable)!!!!
Don't you just dig Julianne's saggy pants?? Apparently, babies don't have hips to hold their jeans up like we grown up girls do!
Reese had her first experience with bubbles and loved them!
I think I'm going to have a little helper on my hands here in no time!
I am loving these curls!!!!

Lacey and Reese

Reese is soooo close to walking...any day now
We also did some indoor play. Julianne was apparently teaching Reese how to climb in her toy basket (this is Julianne's new favorite thing to do...in and out...in and out)
I know I'm biased but how stinkin' cute is she? I can't stand it. THOSE CHEEKS!
Bad lighting and I'm not so good with the self portraits with my big camera but at least we're both in it!
I wish you could see Julianne's face more in the below photo. She gave Reese some interesting looks when she was here. I don't think she was too sure about the little girl playing with all of her toys. It didn't help matters that Julianne is apparently scared of another baby talking or making loud noises because everytime Reese did, Julianne cried. Hard. I have no idea why.

Check out those eyes.

Reese going for Julianne's doll......

Julianne wasn't having it...she moved Reese's hand away
The girl is obsessed with shoes.....I have no idea where she gets that!
Reese wanted one of my shoes too.....
Denied....I'm thinking Julianne is going to have to start learning about sharing.
Thank you girls so much for making the trip to come see us. We had so much fun with you guys. We'll be to Chicago to see you sometime soon hopefully!
