Wedding flashback - part 6

The Best Bachelorette weekend ever!
A bachelorette party was in order. But not just any bachelorette party. We decided to make a weekend out of it and go to my favorite place - Vegas! We went the weekend before the wedding (July 4th weekend 1999). Shaun and his dudes went to Vegas the same weekend but we didn't tell each other where we were staying because we each wanted to have our weekend with our respective peeps.
Randi, Tami and I drove over on Friday morning and Karen met us later that evening when she flew over. We got to the room and I had to go to the bathroom (4+ hours in the car will do that to you). I went to the restroom and was in there for approximately one minute and when I came out I found this:
Randi really did it up for me. The table in the room was decorated interesting tablecloth (I'm not sure if you can see it closely but it has cartoons of people in different..ahem...positions). There was a huge martini glass (I am a martini lover), plenty of alcohol to go around, and presents! There was a theme for the weekend and it was drinking and things (and by things I mean male things...I'm trying to watch my words because I don't want someone putting a dirty word into google and finding my blog). You'll know by the pictures (although most of them I can't post because it would be inappropriate for this blog and also because my mom and mother-in-law read this)!
This is me pre-partying in our room. I have no idea why I am wearing a shower cap and have my hands behind my back but don't you just love those yard long drinks you can get on the street in Vegas?
Here I am ready to hit the town. I did wear that veil out all night and you wouldn't believe all the people who asked if I was getting married (as in getting married that night). Uh, no.

Here is me opening gifts. Purple is my favorite color. :)

So beautifully wrapped with "thing" themed wrapping paper
Karen and I

My sister-in-law and I. Tami got sick the second day we were there and was unable to join us the second night out.
Me and my girls.
Me and my BFF. She did a wonderful time planning an incredible weekend.
I won't go into any details of what we did because you know what they say about what happens in Vegas. We went to clubs (different kinds), had many a drink bought for us, and danced our booties off.
And one of the most surprising things about the weekend? While walking around Vegas on 4th of July weekend who did we run into? That's right...Shaun and his dudes. We were walking through the Mirage and there they were. There were so many people in Vegas that weekend and we ran into them. Sometimes it is a small world! I ran to him, gave him a kiss, asked if he was having fun and then said "c-ya" and we were off. Thanks girls for making it one of the most memorable weekends ever.

And that's where our wedding similarities end...

I had to put my dog to sleep the day before my bachelorette party, so I was a mess the next day. It was fun and all, but I was too depressed to care about partying. A few of the girls made me a delicious dinner, and then we went out dancing and boozing. Nothing fancy, and I was back home in my own bed by 2am! I would have LOVED to have gone to Vegas! Lucky girl!

That's a fun weekend! You look cute in your veil. It's nice to read about all the fun leading up to your wedding. Great photos and memories.

I'm totally laughing at the "thing" wrapping paper. Can't say I've ever seen that in Hallmark before.

Looks like fun! ANd sorry I'm so behind on commenting. I've been slowly catching up with all of the posts in my blog reader since being gone on blogging sabbatical this last week. I'm down to just 42 left to go. WHOOHOO!
