I've been a horrible blogger this week. I've been trying to catch up on quite a few to-do's and it's just not going as fast as I had hoped. It pretty much came to a stand still today because I caught the bug that my husband brought home from the hospital. This is definitely the downside to being married to a Dr. There are many perks but bringing junk home is definitely not one of them. Especially when I am pregnant....and can't take anything but Tylenol. ANNOYING. So I am sitting here coughing with a stuffed up, yet runny nose wishing I was in bed and that all my to-do's were crossed off my list.
I have accomplished a few things. I'm just about done with a project that I've been working on for a foundation that is close to my heart. A neighbor of ours lost their seven year old son to cancer last October. His mom and her friend, who also lost her daughter to cancer last year have started a foundation in their memories to help raise money for pediatric blood cancer research. I've been helping out by getting donations for the silent auction at a fundraiser they are having next Friday. If you're interested, you can read about their precious little ones and their foundation here.
We got Julianne's 18 month photos taken last week and I saw them last night and am so happy with them. I can't wait to share them with all of you which I should be able to do in a few days when I get the CD from our photographer. It was a beautiful location and she got some great shots of Julianne even though she did not sit or stand still for more than 10 seconds the entire time we were there (for real).
We had a blissful weekend hanging out at home and not doing much of anything. We watched a ton of college football and I am so glad it has started up again. I love me some football! I'm looking forward to the Ohio State/USC game this weekend. I may live in Ohio now but I am a California girl so I have to cheer on USC! Shaun was off all weekend (even on Monday) which is very rare so we found it a nice treat to have him home with us for 3 days straight. Julianne had fun playing in the basement on her jungle gym/ball pit while we watched the games and I sat in my ijoy chair getting a back massage. Heaven!
I am hoping that my cold only lasts a few days because we have a really busy week next week. I've got my monthly OB appt, an orthodontist appt, Julianne's 18 month check-up, and our ultrasound appt on Friday. We will find out the gender that day which will be a great b-day gift for me (my b-day is the next day). I'm so looking forward to not having to hear Shaun say "do you think it's a boy" almost everyday. It's no secret that Shaun would love to have a boy. One of each would be his ideal. I get it. If we didn't have a girl already, I would want a girl. If it is not a boy, he won't be disappointed but will probably want to have another baby and after this pregnancy, I'm just not sure I can do it. Maybe that's just because it is still so fresh in my mind....maybe I'll forget...who knows? It looks like the poll is in favor of a boy but only by a smidge. I have no idea what gender the baby is. It cracks me up that Shaun thinks I should have a feeling. I thought Julianne was a boy - what do I know? I pray that everything is progressing normally, that the baby is healthy as can be and that the baby cooperates and shows us the goods.
The day after the ultrasound is my birthday and what better gift than to have a visit from my best good friend and her littlest babe. They are coming for a long weekend and I'm so excited! I will miss her other two kiddos but it will be fun to spend the weekend with her and Ben (he is 3 months younger than Julianne). Shopping is on the agenda as well as watching the red carpet pre-show and the Emmy's. Sounds like a perfect weekend to me!
Well, that's it for now. Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive even though my posts have been few and far between. I'm off to feed my girl some dinner. Speaking of my girl, here is her favorite new move to do (she is quite the flexible one and pretty much obsessed with chewing on her feet).
