A new addiction

Our girl has a new obsession. If you've read my blog at all, you understand her obsession with her dolly. She literally goes everywhere with us. Once in a while I'll get lucky and get out of the house without her but it doesn't happen very often. We've added to that mix. She now must have four of her stuffed animals with her pretty much at all times. The dolly, the bunny I got her for Easter, the Blues Clues dog Shaun's parents got her when they were here in July, and the newest addition, a dog we got when Aunt Randi and Drew were here. She's had all of these for a while now, but just over the last week, must take them everywhere with her. Upstairs at night, downstairs in the morning and yes, into the car when we go somewhere and in turn, into the stores we go to. Yes, I was walking around Wal-Mart and Costco yesterday with all of these animals in tow (they sit next to her in the cart). I try to leave without them but she looks at me with those sad eyes and says "bun" and "dog". What is a mommy to do? Maybe I'm a pushover but instead of refusing, I'm giving in because she is only little once and will probably outgrow this (I hope) very soon. Here is some photographic evidence of her new addiction:

Did I mention they have to sit with her to eat too?

And that she carries them all at once??

I have no idea where this addiction came from all of a sudden but am trying to enjoy it rather than be burdened by it (even when I have to go back in the house to get "bun" because we forgot him). Did your kids have any addictions like this and when did they give them up??

What a difference....

A YEAR MAKES!!!
October 2008
October 2009
How fast they grow up. It's so bittersweet. You want to see them grow up, what they'll do next, who they will become....but you also want them to stay like this forever. Small, sweet, cuddly, and dependent on you for everything. How I will treasure these days and the sweet memories of this girl growing into a little person. I am so thankful that I've been here for nearly every moment of her life and that I get to spend everyday with her. I love you Jules!

Fun on the Farm

Today we were finally able to go to the pumpkin patch. I am feeling much better and it was the first day in a few weeks I think when it didn't rain. Julianne was very excited to get out of the house. She was all ready to go and running around saying "bye bye.....bye bye". Poor thing hadn't been out of the house in a week! We went to a farm about 20 miles from where we live. They have a corn maze, hay rides to the pumpkin patch, a "fun house", a petting zoo, pony rides, and a show for the kiddos. What else did they have today? MUD. Oh my, it was muddy. We've been getting non-stop rain and it was messy. We still had fun though (and got dirty). Thank goodness I put an old yucky pair of shoes on Julianne! She had a great time!

Daddy's are the best aren't they? Gotta love the one arm/shoulder carry.

Love this face
Hi
Going through the "fun house"...it was really dark and she got a bit scared

then she started crying...but only for a few seconds
The girl refuses to look at the camera now...all our pictures look like this
Except when I occasionally catch her off guard
o.k. I'll look at the camera but I won't smile

Have you noticed that her dolly got to see every part of the farm too?
Note to all pregnant women...don't bend down like this...it's impossible to get back up!
Off to the next thing....
creeping up on the animals
not to sure about the bunnies
coming after the camera
i want that camera
I love these cheeks!
Pointing at the goats
running to daddy
She loved this pumpkin...she could have played with it for an hour

Clapping to the music

Looking at the pony
She loved the pony...she stood there and stared at it for about 10 minutes
Seeing the goats up close and personal
Not to sure about petting the goat
Finally decided it was o.k. to pet him
Sitting on the pumpkins....and not to happy about it
How do I get out of here?
How long do I have to sit here?
What's over there?
Are we done yet with the pictures?
Daddy came to rescue me
We picked out some pumpkins and squash and we were on our way. It was a fun (and muddy) time!
