Well, I'm here in Miami with Shaun. We are having a wonderful time! We arrived yesterday and will be here until Thursday. I am missing my girls like crazy but it is so nice to have some time away and get some rest and to just relax. I told Shaun that I don't know what to do with myself when I have nothing to do. It's weird. Right now, I'm sitting at the hotel bar waiting for Shaun to get out of his meeting. They have wifi down here so I'm taking the opportunity to catch up on my e-mails, Facebook, and to say hi to all of you. I'm drinking a peach martini that is one of the best I've ever had. I'm thinking about ordering another one! This girl loves martinis!
We slept in this morning until 9:30. I seriously can't remember the last time I slept that late. It felt so good. 11 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I got to take a looooong shower. My showers normally last about 3 minutes if I'm lucky and I have to rush. It's the little things in life isn't it....being so thankful to take a leisurely shower and actually get ready (makeup and hair curled?) I am normally thankful if I get to brush my teeth. Being on vacation reminds you of how hectic day to day life normally is. It is such a blessing to get away for a few days.
We walked down Ocean Drive today in South Beach. Holy moly...I always thought that the best people watching was in Vegas. Nope. Not so. It's here....in South Beach. There is the biggest mix of people here that I have ever seen and there are some *interesting* people. I say interesting because I don't even know what word to use to describe what we've seen. It's unbelievable. And apparently, the Europeans who are visiting didn't get the memo that this beach is not topless! I'm glad we didn't bring the girls. This is not a family place!
Right now I'm just waiting for Shaun to be done and we are going to go to dinner followed by some night swimming in the pool here. The weather is warm and humid. My hair doesn't like it.
I hope that you all had a fabulous Mother's Day! I would like to again wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day. She and my dad are at home with the girls taking such wonderful care of them. It's so nice to get away and not have to worry one bit about the girls. Not many parents would fly all the way across the country to babysit for 5 days. That's just how awesome my parents are. They are even attempting to potty train Julianne while we are gone. Can you imagine? A vacation and coming home to a potty-trained little girl? I think that would go down in the grandparents hall of fame!
Have a fabulous week everyone! I'll be back with photos of our trip!
