School days

Where did my baby go? This little girl is looking more and more like a big girl every day. I enrolled her in school for the summer and fall and she is loving it. It's a program that is for 2 year olds and it is 2 mornings a week for an hour and a half. It teaches them socialization and also gets them used to being left by mom and being on their own. I was afraid of how she would react but the first time I took her she said "byyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeee" and walked away. The next time the teacher told me she cried on and off a little bit. She cried a bit last week when my mom dropped her off. But this week she hasn't shed a tear yet and is asking to go to school. She says "wanna go school" and "wanna have fun kids". We think it's great for her. We have a very shy little girl on our hands. She is not shy at home. She talks non-stop and is so outgoing. Then, in public, she is SHY. Or maybe just uninterested. She seems to be an observer. She surveys the room and watches all the other kids and what they are doing. She plays well with older kids but with kids her own size she is a bit more reserved.

I'm amazed at the progress she's making already. The first day that I took her she would not sit still during activities, wouldn't stay at the table for snack time and every time the teacher would set her down where she was supposed to be, she'd get right back up. By the third time she went she was sitting still for all the activities, following directions and even sitting at the table in a regular chair for snack time. Our little girl is growing up fast and we just couldn't love her more. You're doing a great job at school Jules and we are so proud of you!
